Abrams”,”description”:”After spending much of the 1990s writing screenplays like ‘Regarding Henry’ and ‘Armageddon,’ J.J. Abrams found enormous success on television, creating, writing, and producing a series of critically acclaimed shows including the college drama ‘Felicity,’ the spy thriller ‘Alias,’ and the hugely popular mystery ‘Lost.’ While he continued working in television, developing shows like ‘Fringe’ and ‘Person of Interest,’ Abrams also moved back to film, where he became one of the most sought-after directors in Hollywood. He’s worked on the ‘Mission: Impossible,’ ‘Star Trek,’ and ‘Star Wars’ franchises, and paid homage to director Steven Spielberg with the surburban sci-fi picture ‘Super 8.’ He’s famous for his love of “mystery boxes,” the idea that audiences are fascinated by secrets and surprises, and he markets his movies accordingly. “,”post_count”:405,”link_url”:”//screencrush.com/tags/j-j-abrams/”,”feed_url”:”//screencrush.com/tags/j-j-abrams/feed/”,”term_taxonomy_id”:419,”object_id”:0},{“id”:31304,”slug”:”the-end-of-oak-street”,”title”:”The End of Oak Street”,”description”:””,”post_count”:2,”link_url”:”//screencrush.com/tags/the-end-of-oak-street/”,”feed_url”:”//screencrush.com/tags/the-end-of-oak-street/feed/”,”term_taxonomy_id”:13417,”object_id”:0}],”categories”:[{“id”:1,”slug”:”movie-news”,”title”:”Movie News”,”description”:””,”parent”:0,”post_count”:32342,”link_url”:”//screencrush.com/category/movie-news/”,”feed_url”:”//screencrush.com/category/movie-news/feed/”,”term_taxonomy_id”:1,”object_id”:0},{“id”:347,”slug”:”trailers”,”title”:”Trailers”,”description”:””,”parent”:0,”post_count”:4109,”link_url”:”//screencrush.com/category/trailers/”,”feed_url”:”//screencrush.com/category/trailers/feed/”,”term_taxonomy_id”:352,”object_id”:0}],”authors”:[{“id”:595061,”slug”:”mattsinger”,”name”:”Matt Singer”,”first_name”:”Matt”,”last_name”:”Singer”,”nickname”:”mattsinger”,”description”:”Matt Singer is the editor and critic of the website ScreenCrush.com. Release Date: May 22
The story of Din Djarin and his widdle pal Grogu shifts from Disney+ to the big screen next summer, but their first movie hails from much of the same team behind their hit streaming TV series, including director/co-writer Jon Favreau, co-writer/producer Dave Filoni, producer Kathleen Kennedy, cinematographer David Klein, and composer Ludwig Goransson. Although the film’s story remains largely unknown, the cast includes Sigourney Weaver as a former member of the Rebel Alliance, and Jeremy Allen White as Jabba the Hutt’s son Rotta. (Gotta say: Not the strongest family resemblance there.)
