Will Smith’s Sci-Fi Western Misfire Is Making a Streaming Comeback on Paramount+

Officially joining Paramount+ on August 1, Will Smith‘s sci-fi Western bomb Wild Wild West, inspired by a television series from the 1960s, is an intriguing option for your watchlist. It might have made it into the list of 20 highest-grossing movies of 1999, but Wild Wild West was an undeniable box office disappointment. This is largely due to having a bloated production budget of $175 million, which made financial success unlikely. In total, the film returned a global haul of $221 million, split between $114 million in domestic revenue and a further $107 million from overseas markets. Smith and Sonnenfield were much more successful with 1997’s Men in Black, which earned $588 million worldwide.
