Donatella Versace is launching a new fashion and beauty brand with Revolve Group, marking the designer’s return to a creative leadership role after stepping down as Versace’s chief creative officer in 2025. The independent venture, which is expected to introduce its first products in 2027, will combine Versace’s creative direction and cultural influence with Revolve’s digital retail platform and global reach.
The announcement comes as Versace begins a new chapter outside the Italian fashion house she led creatively for nearly three decades. Donatella will serve as chief creative officer of the new venture, which will initially launch across the United States, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.

Under the new agreement, Donatella will serve as chief creative officer of the independent business, which will cover both fashion and beauty. According to the announcement, the company is being developed around the way a younger generation discovers style, experiences culture, shops, shares and connects.
“I believe creativity should be fearless, inclusive and alive in the world,” Donatella said in the announcement. “I have always been inspired by the next generation, in music, film, art and, of course, fashion.”
She added that the partnership gives her the freedom to communicate with that audience “in a completely new and personal way” through fashion and beauty.
The announcement marks a new phase for the designer after her departure from Versace’s creative leadership. She was subsequently named chief brand ambassador of the Italian fashion house. The position allowed her to remain connected to the brand she helped shape for almost 30 years.
Revolve Group Is Building the Venture with Her
For Revolve Group, the partnership brings one of fashion’s most recognizable creative figures into a business that has been built around digital retail and cultural influence.
Founded in 2003 by Michael Mente and Mike Karanikolas, Revolve Group operates REVOLVE and FWRD, offering fashion, footwear, accessories and beauty products from established and emerging brands. The company has increasingly expanded its business beyond traditional online retail through collaborations, entertainment and new brand ventures.
“Donatella is one of the defining creative voices of our time,” Mente, co-founder and co-CEO of Revolve Group, said. “This partnership gives that vision an entirely new platform and the freedom to build something from the ground up.”
Karanikolas said the company’s technology, infrastructure and global reach, combined with Donatella’s creative authority, could allow the venture to develop a distinctive business over the long term.
Raissa Gerona, Revolve Group’s president of brand and partnerships, also pointed to Donatella’s connection with younger audiences as a major reason for the partnership.
“Donatella has an extraordinary instinct for what the next generation wants and an unmatched ability to connect fashion with culture,” Gerona said.

Although the new brand does not yet have a name, the companies have confirmed that the first products are expected in 2027, with beauty among the initial categories. Fashion will also be part of the business, although specific collections and product details have not yet been disclosed.
The venture will combine Donatella’s creative direction and cultural influence with Revolve Group’s technology, consumer intelligence, operating platform and direct relationship with millions of consumers.
The companies are also promising a broader digital and cultural experience rather than a business focused exclusively on selling products. Revolve said the ambition is to create a digital-first world that people can participate in rather than simply shop from.
Donatella’s Influence Extends Beyond Fashion
The move comes as Donatella remains one of the most recognizable figures in contemporary fashion and popular culture. With more than 12 million Instagram followers, she has maintained a substantial audience well beyond the traditional luxury-fashion industry.
Her influence has also continued through celebrity fashion. Zendaya recently wore a 2016 Atelier Versace design during the promotional circuit for “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” while Miley Cyrus wore a 2015 Atelier Versace dress for her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. Jennifer Lopez has also returned to the Versace archive, wearing a 2004 Atelier Versace design at the premiere of “Office Romance.”
Donatella’s connection to entertainment has extended to film as well. She appeared in “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” a cameo that connects her to the fashion world portrayed by the original 2006 film.
A New Chapter After Versace

The announcement arrives during a major transition for the Versace fashion house itself. Prada Group acquired Versace in 2025 in a deal valued at approximately €1.25 billion (approximately $1.5 billion), following its previous ownership under Capri Holdings.
Pieter Mulier was subsequently appointed Versace’s creative director and is expected to present his first collection for the house early next year. Donatella’s new venture will therefore develop separately from the fashion house that bears her family name.
For Donatella, the new business provides an opportunity to build something from the ground up while continuing to work across fashion, beauty, music, entertainment and popular culture.
