Greek-American actress Despina Mirou has never been interested in playing the same character twice.
That versatility is becoming even more apparent as Mirou enters an especially active period in her career, with a growing slate of completed, filming, post-production and upcoming projects that move across drama, action, science fiction and comedy.
According to her current IMDb credits, Mirou has accumulated 75 acting credits, with another 13 projects appearing in the platform’s upcoming section.
Among the most prominent is The Ark: An Iron Sky Story, currently listed by IMDb in post-production. Directed by Timo Vuorensola, the action-comedy science-fiction film stars Andy Garcia, Udo Kier and Despina Mirou, with Mirou portraying the mysterious character appropriately credited as “Mystery Woman.”
The role adds another striking turn to a résumé that increasingly demonstrates Mirou’s ability to disappear into wildly different characters.
Her recent credits also include The Fix, in which she is credited as Katarina. IMDb currently lists the film as a 2026 credit for Mirou.
Mirou is also credited as The Stylist in Ave U, another project currently appearing among her latest IMDb credits.
Then there is Scarface Resurrection, currently listed as filming, with Mirou credited as Despina. Other upcoming projects on her IMDb slate include The Theory of the Beauty, The STUDIO, The Divine Countess Casati, Puskin’s Odessa, Pizza 2027, Parallel Predicament, 2088, and DAMN ‘ER, in which she is credited as The Maiden with No Name.
One of the most intriguing projects may be God Bless You Al Pacino, a comedy currently listed in pre-production.
This one is particularly personal for Mirou because she isn’t simply acting in it. IMDb credits her as both writer and director, as well as playing the character Lolita. The project’s listed cast includes Roberto Benigni, Russell Peters, Maurizio Lombardi and Nikos Kalogeropoulos.
It’s another example of Mirou expanding beyond acting and taking greater control of the stories she wants to tell.
Becoming Hollywood Legends
Some of Mirou’s most fascinating work has involved portraying women whose faces are permanently etched into Hollywood history.
In Birth of A Goddess, released in 2025, Mirou portrayed Marilyn Monroe. She is also attached to Enter the Requiem, where IMDb again credits her as Marilyn Monroe.
The transformation follows earlier performances as two other screen legends.
Mirou portrayed Sophia Loren in So Long Marianne and Ava Gardner in Hotel Du Cap. Before that, she stepped into the role of Elizabeth Taylor in Affairs on Capri.
Those aren’t easy assignments. Playing an icon requires more than recreating a hairstyle, costume or accent. Audiences already know these women.
