It’s a very happy Easter because our Lord lives! He rose from the dead over 2,000 years ago, after enduring a horrific and torturous death.
When contemplating the resurrection, I must think that on the morning Jesus raised himself from the dead, God the father was filled with tremendous joy because his will was complete and now the gates of Heaven were once again open to all of his children.
Remember, this started way back in the Garden, when God kicked Adam and Eve out of Eden so that they wouldn’t eat from the tree of life in their fallen state and live forever separated from him.
He then planted a new tree of life, one with fruit which we could all eat of and not only live forever, but have full redemption from our sins. This is why Jesus said:
“Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.”
His flesh is the fruit of the new tree of life and by partaking it in, we receive our redemption and salvation, which is enteral life.
Happy Easter everyone. I hope your day is filled with great joy over this wondrous gift from the Father.
