The CW will not run the Lovers and Liars‘ finale next Thursday. Instead, the network will air a rerun of Police 24/7.
Hosted by Nikki Glaser, the dating competition series was initially titled FGirl Island and is a spin-off of FBoy Island, which had an unsuccessful run on the network. The show follows three of the latter’s former contestants, Benedict Polizzi, CJ Weathers, and Casey Johnson, as they look for a serious relationship. The men and 24 women are relocated to a tropical locale. Half of the women want to make a genuine connection, but the other half are just there to deceive the men, stick around until the end, and win the cold, hard cash. At the end of the season, each male will choose one of the females. If they have a genuine romantic connection, they split a $100,000 prize. If the female was just in it for the money, she takes home the cash prize all for herself.
The CW revealed next Thursday’s schedule in a press release.
An encore episode of POLICE 24/7 will air Thursday, May 30 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET)

“Failure Swift” (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, DL) (HDTV) Forced to share the men with their competition on group dates, tensions between the ladies reach an all-time high! Nikki Glaser surprises with a riveting performance. Tough choices are made and the men shock everyone with their final eliminations (108).
Lovers and Liars is one of the network’s lowest-rated shows of the season, and Police 24/7 is one of the highest, so the network will likely get better ratings with this move. However, pulling a show so close to the end of the season seems unnecessary.
It’s possible that the network could still air next week’s episode at some point in the future, but that seems unlikely. According to the network’s site, the remaining episode will still be released online on May 30th.
What do you think? Have you been keeping up with Lovers and Liars? Are you disappointed the network has pulled the series so close to the end of the season?
