President Trump just promised that gas prices are going to drop dramatically, eventually even falling below two dollars.
Here’s what he said:
Oil prices will drop precipitously, like everything else is dropping (but more!), when we WIN the war with Iran. Three Dollars a gallon, but ultimately, below Two Dollars a gallon. It will all happen quickly, and Iran will never have a Nuclear Weapon. MAGA! President DJT
I think what I’m trying to figure out is what exactly ‘winning the war’ with Iran actually looks like. I’m not being a naysayer, just realistic. Because if it ultimately means that pipelines will replace the need for big ships to traverse the Strait of Hormuz for oil and gas, then it sounds like that’s going to be a while. If it means we economically starve Iran to the point that they are no longer a threat, then I think that’s gonna take a while too.
Meaning we likely aren’t going to win the war before the midterms if the two metrics above are what winning looks like. I could be wrong, but we’ve been at this for several months and it seems we are going to be at this for several more months, at least.
Is preventing Iran from becoming a nuclear power this important? Absolutely. Imagine living in a world with those Islamonazis becoming a nuclear power, and you’ll realize Trump is right to pursue this. We just have to have patience with the costs we are bearing in order to make this happen.
