Between now and 2023, Marvel Studios has a growing number of movies, television series, and special events slated for release. As Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige told Collider in an interview, “you don’t know everything about this [post-Infinity Saga] universe yet.”
Fans of the MCU can expect to see new characters emerge in individual Disney+ series. Marvel also plans to bring back familiar faces battling greater woes. That’s just the beginning, and here are the most anticipated MCU projects according to the franchise’s most dedicated audience: Reddit.

With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 just around the corner (premiering on May 5), MCU fans don’t have to wait much longer to see what’s next for the franchise’s most popular heroes. While the first film in Phase 5, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, stumbled after it received mixed reviews from fans and critics alike, audiences are likely eager to see if the massive franchise can get back on the right path with its upcoming releases, especially fans on Reddit.
1 ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ (May 5, 2023)
Where we last left off with the Guardians franchise and characters, Gamora dies in Avengers: Infinity War, and a different timeline version of her character is introduced in Endgame. With no shortage of drama surrounding James Gunn‘s involvement in the film, fans will finally get to see Rocket’s character arc come to a conclusion, something Gunn has discussed in interviews about Guardians 3, Screen Rant reports.
Fans will also finally get the highly-anticipated anti-hero, Will Poulter’s Adam Warlock. SpideyFan914 is especially excited about that character, writing how “there’s so much potential” and that they’re “insanely excited to see what Gunn and Poulter do with him.” Viewers don’t have to wait much longer to see Vol. 3 in theaters, as it premieres next month (May 5).
2 ‘Secret Invasion’ (June 21, 2023)
The Disney Plus series Secret Invasion sees Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) going against the Skrulls, shape-shifting beings invading the Earth. His story will be told alongside fan-favorite character Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), Ben Mendelsohn‘s Talos (previously seen in 2019’s Captain Marvel), Emilia Clarke as Talos’ daughter G’iah, and Olivia Colman as an MI6 agent.
Based on interviews with Feige and the overall tone of the teasers, it’s looking like Secret Invasion will be grittier, possibly favoring a more bleak tone over the MCU’s signature humor. This has generalosabenkenobi excited, who shares that “something more espionage forward will be good” and adds how “Jackson is all over this franchise but pretty underutilized so it’s great to see him with a larger role.”
3 ‘The Marvels’ (November 10, 2023)
Coming to theaters in November, The Marvels is a sequel to Captain Marvel (2019) and a continuation of the upcoming Disney+ series Ms. Marvel. Brie Larson reprises her role as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, the first female superhero to lead a blockbuster Marvel film. New additions to the intergalactic epic include Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) and Teyonah Parris‘ Monica Rambeau (the S.W.O.R.D. agent who appeared in WandaVision), who becomes Photon.
An enigmatic villain has also been cast, with Zawe Ashton taking on the role. Reddit has a lot to say about casting thus far. For one, user sugarmetimbers hoped “for Carol, rather than an ensemble-based story.” The title may indicate that there are more Marvels to come, but rest assured, this is still Captain Marvel’s tale.
4 ‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos’ (Late 2023)
Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) became a household name in the MCU thanks to her supporting role in the franchise’s first-ever Disney+ series, WandaVision. Now, a dark comedy spinoff is in the works dedicated to the mischievous witch of West Lake.
Originally titled House of Harkness, Agatha: Coven of Chaos does not have a release date just yet, but WandaVision writer Jac Schaffer has officially signed on to the project. Reddit users are responding well to the news, and there is speculation that Hahn might appear in other upcoming MCU projects as well. Perhaps – as one Redditor explained – there could be insight into Agatha’s centuries of magic over the course of history, considering she’s a “400-year-old witch with a good comic basis.”
5 ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ (Spring 2024)
Charlie Cox‘s Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio‘s Kingpin are coming back for Disney Plus’ longest Marvel series yet (at 18 episodes), Daredevil: Born Again. Confirmed to be filming this year, the show is expected to finally focus on the beloved character himself, seen appearing in She-Hulk, Echo, and even Spider-Man: No Way Home.
There aren’t a lot of details about the plot, but that hasn’t stopped Redditors from speculating (and hoping) on the platform. A highly-upvoted comment by LR-II describes an interesting potential storyline: “We see Matt rebuilding his life just after the blip, as well as another story taking place after She-Hulk.” It’s just one of the countless fan theories already on the site.
6 ‘Blade’ (September 6, 2024)
Blade is finally getting a Marvel movie, with Mahershala Ali playing the role of the legendary character. Ali also had a small role in Eternals, so it wouldn’t exactly be his debut in the MCU. Other actors cast for Blade include Delroy Lindo and Aaron Pierre.
Despite its production being a notoriously chaotic one (with director Bassim Tariq‘s exit causing delays), fans on Reddit are still looking forward to the long-awaited movie. Polite_gert sums up most of the sentiments on the platform by saying “this is looking great” since “this can be the most accurate movie in terms of visuals of MCU so far” thanks in large part to “the perfect casting of Mahershala Ali” who is “a great actor.”
7 ‘Fantastic Four’ (February 14, 2025)
Spider-Man: Homecoming director Matt Shakman is bringing Marvel’s “First Family” to the MCU in 2025. This new Fantastic Four movie could introduce supervillain Doctor Doom into Phase 5.
Marvel Studios is not revealing any casting or plot details yet, but Reddit has some ideas. Since discussions of Fantastic Four began, there has been a call for The Office’s John Krasinski to play Mr. Fantastic, with matty_nice saying “everyone should see his overall appeal.” A scientist who’s mastered both alien and human biology, Reed Richards is among the most intelligent characters in Marvel comics.
8 ‘Echo’ (TBA)
Alaqua Cox returns as the titular character in Echo, which will follow the now-iconic deaf Native American hero’s exploits following the events in Hawkeye. A trailer from D23 confirmed the return of Daredevil and Kingpin for the upcoming series, which also means that the fan-favorite MCU villain didn’t actually die after the deadly explosion in Hawkeye‘s finale.
Not much else is known about the direction of the show or who else will appear. Despite the lack of details, lalalibraaa sums up the excitement over the show, explaining how “how freaking excited [they are] about Maya Lopez and the future Echo show and where this is going to (her storyline is so good).”
9 ‘Loki’ Season 2 (TBA)
The multiverse and timeline-shattering first season of Loki has left fans wanting more, which is why season 2 is one of the most anticipated Disney Plus series. Alongside Tom Hiddleston playing the title character, Owen Wilson and Sophia Di Martino reprise their roles as Mobius M. Mobius and Sylvie for the second season.
Loki season 1 had a mind-bending finale that left a lot of unresolved storylines and intriguing mysteries. Teasers so far for season 2 hint at more multiversal madness, which has stirred discussions among fans on Reddit. Orc_face perfectly captures how fans are feeling after finally seeing some footage from season 2, reacting by commenting “bout freakin’ time.”
10 Untitled Wakanda Series (TBA)
An untitled series is in the works starring one of the MCU’s fiercest warriors: Okoye (Danai Gurira). The head of the Dora Milaje first appeared in Black Panther, where her power and strength made her a fan favorite. Though little else is known about the project, Ryan Coogler will direct the spinoff origin tale.
Audiences have some idea of Okoye’s character from her role in Black Panther, followed by appearances in Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War, and numerous Disney+ series. But Reddit users are ready for her standalone moment, and, according to Realshow, maybe some anthological stories from “the most advanced country on Earth.”
