t this point, we really do need to consider the fact that Black women may be conniving to keep us on our toes due to the major face cards they serve week after week. While the glam is totally expected on the red carpet and major events, you’d think these women would hit the breaks for more casual appearances. But no. Rather, they’ve blazed full speed ahead unapologetically flaunting some of the best makeup looks and hairstyles we see each week, and last week was no different. The result? They have us engrossed in them with no opportunity to catch a break.
This 2022, Queen Elizabeth II marked 70 years on the throne. Over the course of four days, there was a lineup of events in celebration of her Platinum Jubilee with a slew of celebrities and public figures present. One of such is the iconic Naomi Campbell who advocated for subtle face beat in a look by celebrity makeup artist, Ernesto Casillas. The look accentuated her strong facial features thanks to the masterful contour and highlight combo by Casillas. And let’s not forget the light pink gloss that stole our hearts for sure. The entire look was created using products from Pat McGrath. Talk about Black excellence! Subtle makeup was a recurring theme last week. Another star who went the minimalist route is the French model, Didi Stone. We spotted her striking a pose on Instagram in a clean beat that exuded an effortless, yet captivating aura. While her face card was generally toned down, we did appreciate the flair brought in by her gold eyeshadow and witchy lashes.
What’s the result of combining rich texture with sleek baby hairs? Nigerian actress, Osas Ighodaro certainly has the answer and it’s every inch as regal as you’d expect.
