Trey Songz Rape Accuser Drops Lawsuit Against Singer – Billboard

An anonymous woman who sued Trey Songz in February over an alleged rape at a 2016 Los Angeles house party has voluntarily dropped her lawsuit.

Court records show that the Jane Doe accuser asked a Los Angeles court to dismiss her case against Songz (real name Tremaine Neverson) last week and that a judge granted the request on Wednesday.

The lawsuit, which was filed February 15 and sought $20 million in damages, claimed that Songz turned into a “savage rapist” during the alleged incident. At the time, the singer’s reps said the allegations were “false” and had been concocted by an attorney who had paid another woman to fabricate allegations against Songz.

The legal documents filed this week did not indicate why Doe dropped her case, including whether a settlement had been reached or money had exchanged hands. Neither side immediately returned requests for comment on Friday. The case was dropped “without prejudice,” meaning it could be refiled.

The now-dismissed case was one of several allegations of sexual misconduct against Songz. In December, a woman named Jauhara Jeffries filed a lawsuit in Florida that claimed he assaulted her at a Miami nightclub in 2017. And in January, a former University of Nevada basketball star, Dylan Gonzalez, came forward claiming that Songz raped her at a Las Vegas hotel; police later declined to press charges. Most recently, a woman named Megan Johnson threatened to sue over an incident at a casino (captured on a video published by TMZ) in which Songz pulled down her bikini top and exposed her breast.

The now-dismissed case filed by the Jane Doe accuser contained shocking and explicit accusations of rape. She said Songz invited her to a Los Angeles house party on March 24, 2016, and then invited her “upstairs” for what she believed would be consensual sex. She says he repeatedly asked if he could “get that ass,” to which she repeatedly replied “no.” The lawsuit says that upon entering the room, Songz threw the woman to the ground, ripped her pants off, pinned her down and anally raped her.

After the alleged attack, the accuser says she ran out of the house and called an Uber. She says the driver noticed she “was in clear distress” and drove her to a hospital. The suit says that a sexual assault exam revealed “severe anal tearing that could require surgery.”

The lawsuit says that police were summoned to the hospital, but that the Jane Doe did not provide Songz’s name because she was “in shock and fearing for her life.”

There had been few developments in the case since it was filed in February.
