Snoop Dogg delivered an impromptu freestyle about dressage while in Paris commentating on the 2024 Summer Olympics.
This year, the hip-hop legend is an Olympic correspondent for the US TV network NBC. While in the channel’s broadcast booth at the Palace of Versailles with Olympics anchor Mike Tirico, he and his longtime friend Martha Stewart watched a video of a horse named Maxima Bella doing a dressage routine to his 1994 seminal hit ‘Gin & Juice’.
Snoop couldn’t contain his excitement when he saw Polish rider Sandra Sysojeva’s performance and enthused: “OK, we got an LBC horse in the house, right?” as soon as he caught onto what was happening. Then, he rapped along to the iconic beat with an equestrian twist.
“From the front to the back/ There’s so much drama, and party, it’s hard being an H-O-R-S-E,” Snoop rapped as his pal Stewart commented on the horse’s form and skills.
During their chat with Tirico, Snoop shared his newfound love for equestrianism and how dressage became one of his favourite sports.
“I didn’t realise that I love the chemistry of the driver [rider] and the horse […] I call them the ‘driver’ because they actually drive the horse,” he said. “And I fed the horses and I’m really scared of horses!”
Last weekend, Stewart and the 52-year-old attended an Olympic dressage event in matching equestrian gear to celebrate the food extraordinaire’s birthday. While at the competition, he revealed that he is “still scared of horses”.
He said in a video: “I am interested in the horses that dance and I want to give them some carrots and apples […] make sure they’re fed before they do their thang.”
Stewart then explained how they ended up at the dressage: “Snoop called me and said he knows I know horses, and he’s a little fearful of horses.”
Snoop Dogg has been a prominent figure at this year’s Olympics in the French capital. He was the final torchbearer and strutted down the streets of Saint-Denis to the Stade de France stadium – which is where the sports events are being held.
He also was seen swimming with esteemed Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps. In a video, the Long Beach rapper compared physiques with the legendary swimmer and then tried to learn the correct pool technique from him.

Back in 2021, Snoop commented on the 2020 Tokyo Olympics dressage event with comedian Kevin Hart for the streaming service Peacock. At the time, he was mesmerised by a horse “crip walking”.
“This horse is off the chain,” Snoop laughed. “I’ve gotta get this motherfucker in a video.”
In other news, Snoop Dogg recently claimed that the late Queen Elizabeth II “was a fan” of his. When Capital FM host Jordan North told him “the future King, William, is a huge Snoop fan”, the Doggfather replied: “Well, the Queen was a fan too.”
He added: “Rest in peace to the Queen, that was my girl. You know what I’m saying? So, just may want to go up and, you know, see what you do… if they let me in or not.”
