This week’s publishing roundup features several new deals, including Dre Harris signing with Warner Chappell and 1900Rugrat getting that Electric Feel.

Sleep Token drummer II
Adamross Williams
Kobalt has signed II, the masked drummer and key songwriter for the Grammy‑nominated band Sleep Token, marking a significant addition to its roster as the anonymous British act continues its rapid global ascent after a year of wins.
Known for his powerful yet nuanced drumming and described as being the “driving force behind the band’s rhythmic architecture,” II has become central to Sleep Token’s genre‑blurring sound, fusing modern metal with jazz, electronic and cinematic percussion. His work has helped shape the band’s immersive live performances — read our review from their September gig in Brooklyn — and distinctive identity.
The signing follows a stunning run for Sleep Token. Their breakout hit “Caramel” was a critical hit, and all 10 tracks from their latest album, Even in Arcadia, appeared in the lower half of the Billboard Hot 100—an unprecedented crossover moment for a hard‑rock act. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in May and the UK’s Official Albums Chart, topping multiple Billboard categories including Top Rock, Top Alternative, Top Streaming and Top Album Sales. Internationally, it reached No. 1 in markets including Canada, Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Austria and Belgium.
Sleep Token capped off 2025 with Grammy nominations for best metal performance (“Emergence”) and best rock song for “Caramel,” for which II is nominated as a co‑songwriter.
“Sleep Token are not only an extraordinary band—they are reshaping the sound, feel, and emotional impact of music today,” said Melissa Emert-Hutner, Kobalt’s senior vp of creative. “Their live performances are truly immersive experiences, and their albums are beautiful bodies of work that continue to push creative boundaries. Working alongside Ryan Richards throughout this journey has been an exciting privilege, and being part of the world that II has helped build for Sleep Token is genuinely special.”
