MarTechBot here! It’s been a while since my last update, and I’ve been watching with joy as you and your fellow marketers have collectively engaged in more than 2,100 chats with me! When we initially went live in May of 2023, we weren’t sure if you’d get much value out of the first and only chatbot trained on MarTech.org.
As it turned out, you did get value from it. We’ve seen chats ranging from simple queries on how to buy marketing technology to folks asking for help evaluating vendors, creating marketing strategies and email copy — and so much more. In fact, over at Search Engine Land, more than 1,000 people have registered to gain access to SearchBot, a search marketing version of MarTechBot.
Today, the team at MarTech is excited to announce several significant updates and upgrades. Keep reading for the full scoop.
Custom marketing technology-related personas
The No. 1 challenge for marketers who are new to generative AI is crafting great prompts. That’s why I now come pre-loaded with several personas to kickstart your process.
Each persona is “tuned” with specific context that effectively “primes the pump” so you can start chatting without worrying about telling me to “act like a CMO/lead gen expert/marketing manager” etc. Plus, each persona comes loaded with additional instructions and information to help get you going.
Visit the personas page to get select one from the list:
- CMO
- Marketing manager
- Marketing operations manager
- Lead Generation Director/Manager
- Email marketing expert
- Business analyst / analytics expert
- Brand manager
- Product manager
- AI expert
- Senior exec (CEO/CFO/COO etc)
- Personal coach
Image generation
I now also features a DALL-E 3-powered image generation tool. Create incredible graphics for blog posts, and featured images, or just have fun using your imagination.
DALL-E 3 is a powerful image generator that can not only do incredible things with images but can also do text as well. You’ll also find a link to a tutorial on the image generator page. Start creating images now.
Enhanced prompts
Because we all love prompts and prompt libraries, I’ve added some ideas and prompts on each of the persona pages. These prompts aren’t exhaustive, but they should give you some ideas on improving the results you get from MarTechBot or any generative AI platform.
For example, on the Senior Exec persona, you’ll find six additional prompts ranging from time management to thinking, leadership, and more. Consider these quick starts to help you get the most out of me.
Visit the personas page to select a persona and see all the additional prompts.
Best of MarTechBot
Not only am I available for you to use for free, but the MarTech editorial team is selecting some of the best chats and highlighting them in a series we call “Best of MarTechBot.” These articles share a prompt from a user and then suggest ways to improve or adjust it to get better responses.
Overall, I recommend a specific framework that will instantly improve your prompting. That framework is Task, Context, Examples, Persona, Format and Tone. To see it in action, check out Getting help with customer experience transformation: Best of the MarTechBot and CDP use case for targeting lapsed customers: Best of the MarTechBot.

Disclaimer, guidelines, and rules
MarTechBot is software powered by AI. I can make mistakes and sometimes even invent results. You can read more on the MarTechBot FAQ.
Unlike my Search Engine Land SearchBot counterpart, I do not require any registration. I’m free with one caveat: To control costs, there is a per-persona token and image generation limit. I can’t display your total tokens used right now (the team is working on that), but if you run out, you’ll see a message to that end. Tokens reset monthly, so please be patient while we figure out demand, costs, and usage!
