The campaign was shot in Rome and directed by Paolo Sorrentino, the award-winning filmmaker behind “La Grande Bellezza.”

Officials say an 18-year-old shooter fatally shot 19 children and two adults at a Texas elementary (primary) school on Tuesday, May 24 before being killed by police. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Erick Estrada, the shooter, Salvador Ramos of Uvalde, also shot his grandmother. He stated that she is in critical condition. Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District Police Chief Pete Arredondo believes the gunman acted alone.
The 18-year-old suspect had a handgun, an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle and high-capacity magazines, police say. Arredondo said the shooting began at 11:32 local time on Tuesday. Texas Governor Greg Abbott said the shooter abandoned a vehicle before entering the school to “horrifically, incomprehensibly” open fire. According to reports, the attacker was wearing body armor as he carried out the attack. Another 18-year-old who is suspected of attacking a grocery store in Buffalo, New York, on May 14 was also wearing body armor and carrying a semi-automatic rifle — both of which are commercially available in the US.
Our condolences to the families of the victims.

4. Ethiopia’s Dr. Tedros re-elected as WHO head
Humbled & honoured to be elected to serve a 2nd term as @WHO Director-General. I’m deeply grateful for the trust & confidence of Member States. Ethiopia’s Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has been re-elected as the World Health Organization’s (WHO) head for a second five-year term. The result of the secret vote was a formality since he was the only candidate. Opening the 75th World Health Assembly in Geneva, Dr. Tedros, who has led the global response to the COVID pandemic, said coronavirus had turned the world upside down, leaving many still enduring suffering. Fighting back tears as he spoke, he also called for an end to war, which he said: “shakes and shatters the foundations on which previously stable societies stood.”
He recalled his own first-hand experience as a child of war in Ethiopia, which is again experiencing civil conflict in its northern Tigray region, where he is originally from. The 57-year-old has been at odds with Ethiopia’s government after it accused him of supporting forces from Tigray — an accusation he has previously denied. He had been Ethiopia’s health minister — during which he received praises for his efforts in controlling diseases like malaria and HIV/Aids — and a foreign minister before he was first elected to lead the WHO in 2017.

Chelsea’s takeover by a consortium led by American billionaire Todd Boehly has been approved by the Premier League as Roman Abramovich’s 19 years running the west London club moves closer to its end. The total investment will cost £4.25 billion ($5.2bn) with £2.5bn ($3.2bn) ending up being the sale price of the club and an agreement in place that £1.75bn (2.1$bn) will be invested over 10 years. The purchase agreement was signed two weeks ago and has been waived through by the Premier League Owners’ and Directors’ test, with the Government set to facilitate the financial transaction.
“The Premier League Board has today approved the proposed takeover of Chelsea Football Club by the Todd Boehly-Clearlake Consortium,” the league said in a statement. “The purchase remains subject to the Government issuing the required sale license and the satisfactory completion of the final stages of the transaction. The Board has applied the Premier League’s Owners’ and Directors’ Test (OADT) to all prospective Directors and undertaken the necessary due diligence. The members of the Consortium purchasing the club are affiliates of the Clearlake Capital Group, L.P., Todd Boehly, Hansjorg Wyss, and Mark Walter. Chelsea FC will now work with the relevant Governments to secure the necessary licenses to complete the takeover.”
Boehly is the co-owner of Major League Baseball’s (MLB) Los Angeles Dodgers and a minority investor in the National Basketball Association (NBA) team LA Lakers.
