imilar to the art of war, being stylish requires a well-laid-out strategy, waging war against basic wardrobe routines, and ensuring victory remains the object of focus. Last week, stylish celebs and influencers were at the forefront of the fashion streets on a sartorial conquest, hitting without missing like true fashion heavyweights. They were seen on the red carpet of the Time 100 Gala and other meetups that required fashun stamina — that which they possess in plenitude.
The looks
Setting the tone for elegance was the amiable Queen Latifah making a full-on statement in a red Oscar de la Renta scarlet taffeta caftan. The star who played Adam Sandler’s partner in the Netflix movie “Hustle” has been making press rounds and upping the style ante recently. We love it for the Queen.
Ace singer Mary J Blige made a neck-turning statement in a turquoise heart-shaped Gaurav Gupta dress. The number was both slinky and voluminous, with extra fabric blustering from the bodice while reaching to form an extra train. Ms. Blige paired this dress with Aquazzura platform heels and statement jewelry from Pristine Jewelers.
The shimmery lace texture of reality star Chioma Ikokwu’s mermaid-inspired ensemble by Weiz Dhurm Franklyn, which she revealed on Instagram as one of the luxurious outfits she rocked on the set of Real Housewives Of Lagos, was an impeccable sight. Shining on all sides were the ruffled sleeves and hem of the dress, and you can trust the star to embody the look with poise and class.
