E
mpowerment wears many hats. It could be a push towards equality, a ladder to success, or a great sense of fashion that boosts self-esteem unopposed. Last week’s events took an empowering turn with women from all walks of life awarded for their impact on society. Whether it was the Glamour Women Of The Year Awards or the Forbes Power Women Summit, Black stars rose to the occasion swaying confidently in mesmerizing style takes.
The Looks
When queens link up, there’s bound to be a sartorial surge, and we saw this last week. At the Glamour Women Of The Year Awards, Lashana Lynch shone in a Maison Rabih Kayrouz flowy dress to present the GenZ Game-Changer award to the delightful Halle Bailey, who opted for a chic Nicole + Felicia couture velvet mini number with rosette detailing. The two ladies were a 360 inspiration across generations. What we love to see.
Meanwhile, the most talked about woman on the internet now, Jada Pinkett-Smith, decided that the best way to do a press tour is in optimum style. Last week, we spotted the star in an all-white layered ensemble as she headed to the Today Show. The Loro Piana look, styled with a Dior mini cross-body bag, served the right dose of poise. No doubt, Jada isn’t only stepping on nerves, but also necks with her top-tier coordination.
