Beyoncé’s Texas Hold ‘Em hits No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, a week after it debuted at No. 2. The superstar earned her ninth No. 1 on the chart, and her first since “Break My Soul” in 2022. A week earlier, the single became the superstar’s historic first No. 1 on the multimetric Hot Country Songs survey; before the triumph for Texas Hold ‘Em, no Black woman, or female known to be biracial, had previously topped the chart. Texas Hold ‘Em is one of two songs Beyoncé released on February 11, along with “16 Carriages.”

Grammy-award-winning singer and performer Burna Boy has set a new record for Nigerian and African artists with his latest feat in Canada. The singer, who took his I Told Them tour to Toronto, Canada, became the first African artist to sell out the 19000-capacity Scotiabank Arena back-to-back for two days in a row. on February 24 and 25.
On Saturday, February 24, 2024, the singer performed at the iconic venue, teasing fans about an upcoming project as he took to the stage to perform an unreleased song. This, however, was not the only highlight on the first day; the singer, who also had a sold-out concert in Chicago, also belted a medley of some of his biggest hits on the night.
3. South Africa: Miss South Africa Natasha Joubert is engaged
Miss South Africa 2023, Natasha Joubert, is on cloud nine after her boyfriend, Enrico Vermaak, asked her to be his wife. The couple announced their engagement over the weekend. “Yes to today, tomorrow, and every day after. Enrico and I are celebrating 8 years and 5 months together today and eternity to come,” Natasha wrote on Instagram.
The 26-year-old was overcome with emotions when Enrico got down on one knee during a romantic cruise in Cape Town. “The setting was perfect and so special as both our families and friends had flown down for the occasion,” Natasha said. She shared several pictures, including a close-up of her gorgeous engagement ring.

4. Universal Music Group acquires majority stake in Mavin Global

On February 26, Universal Music Group announced its acquisition of a majority stake in Mavin, with the deal said to be awaiting regulatory approval. “Universal Music Group (UMG), the world leader in music-based entertainment, today announced a majority investment in one of the world’s most dynamic and exciting independent record labels, Mavin Global (Mavin). The deal remains subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close by the end of Q3 2024,” the press release reads.
Speaking on the acquisition, Don Jazzy said, “I’m proud of the artists, careers, and brand we’ve built that have made Mavin the force it is today. In this historic partnership with UMG, we will continue that mission in Africa and across the globe.” The press release did not contain the value of the acquisition. However, it was announced that TPG has fully exited the business, while Kupanda Capital will remain a minority investor and strategic adviser.

On Sunday night, the 8-year-old escorted Argentine professional soccer player Lionel Messi on-field during the LA Galaxy vs. Inter Miami game. “Saint walking Messi out on the field tonight at the LA Galaxy vs Inter Miami game!!!” Kardashian tweeted. “He is living the absolute dream!” Although Sunday might’ve been West’s first time walking hand-in-hand with Messi, he met the Inter Miami star last year.
