Jeff Bezos, who previously held the title of the world’s wealthiest individual, is no longer the second-richest person on the planet. The person taking up the second highest position after Amazon CEO Bezos is well-known to him – Bernard Arnault, a luxury magnate.
According to the index, Bezos’ wealth is estimated to be around $155 billion, making him second to Arnault, whose net worth surpasses his by about a billion dollars.
In a single year, Bezos’ net worth rose by $48.4 billion. This was due to a surge in the value of his largest asset, Amazon shares. He owns 12 percent of the company, valued at an incredible $1.37 trillion. In fact, his personal wealth is greater than the entire GDP of Morocco.
Bernard Arnault, head of Tiffany & Co, Christian Dior, Fendi, Givenchy, and numerous other brands, has experienced a decline of nearly $6.4 billion in his wealth in the course of this year.
In contrast to LVMH, Amazon hasn’t experienced a negative effect from the economic change. During the last quarter, the virtual retail store experienced its best performance since the 4th quarter of 2020, influenced by the pandemic and the increase of those shopping online while in lockdown.
