Billboard looks back and counts down the top five songs that ruled the summer of 2014.
Rania Aniftos:
We’ve got some familiar faces on our top five songs of the summer 2014, and one-word titles ruled the charts. Let’s get into it with our No. 5 song. Nico & Vinz with their upbeat hit “Am I Wrong” comes in at No. 5.
We were feeling all the feels in 2014 when Sam Smith shot onto the scene with their emotional ballad ‘Stay With Me,’ which comes in at No. 4.
It was the year of Iggy Azalea. The Australian rapper’s first hit on our summer list was a feature on Ariana Grande’s huge hit “Problem,” and it’s No. 3 on our list.
The band Magic had a huge international hit on their hands with their reggae infused hit “Rude,” which stayed on the chart for weeks, coming in at No. 2.
And our favorite Australian rapper Iggy Azalea had one heck of a summer in 2014. She appears twice on our top five songs of the summer with the No. 1 song “Fancy” featuring Charlie XCX.
More fun in the sun next week when we dive into 2015.
