Estée Lauder is reportedly in talks to buy Tom Ford in an acquisition rumored to be valued at over $3 Billion, which would be the company’s entry into the high-end fashion market. Estee Lauder Tom Ford
The global cosmetics company already holds the license to Tom Ford Beauty, a fragrance and makeup line that Ford developed in partnership with the group, and launched in 2011. If the deal goes through, Estée Lauder would not only run Tom Ford’s garment and accessory company but also the brand’s beauty division. Per reports, Estée Lauder would probably grant other businesses a license to produce and sell said garments and accessories, which might weaken the brand.

Could the corporation be aiming to compete with Kering and LVMH by entering the fashion industry with its largest-ever rumored acquisition worth $3 billion? Estée Lauder, which has typically purchased beauty-first companies like La Mer, Le Labo, and MAC Cosmetics, may be making a change in direction if the deal goes through. Estee Lauder Tom Ford
It is easy to see how Estée Lauder helped Tom Ford Beauty grow. The imprint, which is well-known for its high-end scent, has lots of space to grow the category as well as its modest selection of skincare, bodycare, and grooming goods. Additionally, the company has not yet introduced haircare.
Rumors that the company was for sale first started to spread when Tom Ford recruited Goldman Sachs to investigate a sale in July. Ford and Estée Lauder have made no comments regarding the prospect of an acquisition.
