t’s never going to end, is it? A Black woman’s unwavering reign in every aspect of life. From career to business, fashion to beauty, these women mark each passing day with one accomplishment after another. One would think that with age comes the need to slow down, but the reverse has been the case. We’ve come to the conclusion that Black women have transcended the shackles of time and have arrived at a place where effortless excellence is a daily occurrence regardless of age. Don’t believe us? Makeup

By now, we all agree that Janet Jackson is fine wine. No arguments. But should you decide to question that fact, then her doll-up game last week in a Christian Siriano black number will definitely convince you. The face beat, which was perfectly executed by celebrity makeup artist Preston Meneses, flattered her high cheekbone and defined jawline. Although subtle with limited flashes of color, the entire look did well to play up her strong features. 

Elsewhere, it was a timeless case of matchy-matchy that saw Tessa Thompson play with similar tones on her hair and makeup. The witty makeup came courtesy of celebrity makeup artist, Keita Moore who leveraged earthy tones for maximum impact. We particularly adore how every element of the look, including brows, blush, and lips, came together nicely for an effortless statement. Simply divine.   

Hair

Last week, we got not one but two #hairmoments from Taraji P. Henson. In one instance, she was celebrating National Love Your Skin Day on Instagram, and the photo completely mesmerized us. Although her skin was the focus (and boy does it glow), we were also drawn to her thick, voluminous, magical curls. In another instance, the actress showed up for the Chanel Haute Couture show at Paris Fashion Week in a braided up-do. The crafty hairstyle was done by Tym Wallace and served as a figurative crown a queen such as Henson deserves.
