W
hile a few “regular” inhabitants of the earth sat pretty behind their desks for the most part of last week, Black celebrities made it a mission to serve polished and adventurous looks at different ends of the globe. For one, South African style stars understood the assignment as they made sartorial statements in flamboyant ensembles at the Durban July Horse Racing event, while Hollywood celebs held things down at the Essence Music Fest in sheer opulence.
The looks
It’s an agreeable fact that Tessa Thompson might be the best-dressed Hollywood celebrity of the season as she has been serving off-the-hook looks lately for her Thor: Love and Thunder movie press rounds. Last week, the star expectedly served Big Boss babe energy in an all-black Giorgio Armani look. The view!
The summer sun would certainly be jealous of Black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross because she shone brighter than it in a yellow Cong Tri satin number that oozed refinement and glamour. The look, as styled by Karla Welch, was complemented with yellow Louboutin pumps and gold hoop earrings as Ross hosted her hairline Pattern Beauty event in the UK.
All the way in South Africa, the stunning Nandi Madida gave a porcupine a run for its money in a spiky high slit Keys Fashion number as she attended the Durban July event. There’s something about the gold hue that keeps things classy, regal, and oh-so-stylish.
