Whether it was attending sports events across the States, street style strutting for Spring ’23 fashion shows, or making an off-duty appearance in the motherland, Black celebrities played around with their style in a grand yet fashion-smart way. Many chose to rebuke the basics, rather opting for a modern reinvention of the term “simple fashion.” As a result, the best looks spotted on black men last week were as high impact as they were refreshingly modern. NBA pro athlete, PJ Tucker kicked things off at the beginning of the week when he appeared at the Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics game wearing a handful of luxury designer pieces. He showed off his style in a white Prada mesh shirt which he wore with a pair of Lost Shadows sun logo denim pants. The attention-grabbing part of the entire ensemble is the Air Jordan 1 Legend of Summer sneakers which costs almost $22,000. He accessorized with a pair of Louis Vuitton 1.1 millionaires square sunglasses. With this witty styling, he managed to take a basic combination and make it feel entirely fresh and modern.
In Africa, meanwhile, the male celebs didn’t take things slowly either. For instance, singer Diamond Platnumz raised a storm in a neatly tailored red suit. He added more flare to the look with a pair of black leather dress shoes and then accessorized with his signature statement jewelry. Who said hip and tailored couldn’t go together?
As the week went by, Black male celebrities gave us striking ensembles without falling into the predictable category. They said “yes” to a la mode and “no” to basic. NBA Players Style
