To quantify the growth of the West African genre, last weekend at the Global Citizen Festival, Grammys CEO, Harvey Manson Jr., revealed that the Recording Academy is considering creating an Afrobeats category at the annual Grammys awards. Further proving the monumental rise of the genre, American singer Kelly Rowland hopped on the remix of Ayra Starr’s global hit, Bloody Samaritan and we have to say it’s a vibe!
The musical duo known for always putting underground and rising artists on, Show Dem Camp is also back with a new album titled Palmwine Music vol. 3. Nigerian singer and producer popularly known as Yinka Bernie comes through with a new single titled Very Simple. This song is off his new EP titled Something New. The keyboard-heavy song sees the artist take the singing-talking approach to deliver what fans have rated as great, unconventional music.
#5. Ria Sean – Uptown Girl
Fast emerging singer and songwriter Ria Sean, real name Gloria Asene Enebi, is out with a new song titled Uptown Girl. This is off her upcoming EP Love Station, which is set to be released on October 22. The artist rose to fame after the success of her 2021 single Satisfy My Soul. Her upcoming EP is expected to solidify her place in the Nigerian music industry.
