What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Ruthless King (The Mancini Mafia Book One)?
I was inspired to write this book when thinking about a particular actor (I won’t name names). I was imagining this actor as a mafia man and it made me want to write Ruthless King. I wanted to do something a little different than usual and I think I achieved that with this book.
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Ruthless King (The Mancini Mafia Book One), what would they be?
“Margaret” by Lana Del Rey. The song is about finding love and ‘when you know, you know’ that love is real and yours and coming your way. Ruthless King is about two people who didn’t expect to find love, but when it hit them, they just knew.
What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
I love a good thriller and epic historical novel. Since I write romance, I don’t read it as often as I used to, but I still love a good romance subplot in any book.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
I have too many books on my TBR pile to even say them all!
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
My favorite scene to write was when Nico and Aurora (the two main characters) go on this dinner date and I was inspired by The Bachelor to write it. I was just having a bit of fun. It was a sweet scene between them that was needed.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
My writing habits have changed over the years. Currently, I’m trying to find that perfect routine to make writing even easier. I wish my dog would comfort me as I write but he just sleeps and leaves me alone, so he’s out of the writing equation!
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
My motto is one word and one line at a time. If I keep going at a steady pace, things will work out for me.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
It would be that love can come at unexpected times with unexpected people. Not everyone is worth fighting for but the right people are definitely worth fighting for.
