Kep1er have unveiled the music video for their latest single ‘Up!’, from their new mini-album ‘Doublast’
In the vibrant new visual, the members of Kep1er bask in the summer sunlight with popsicles and iced drinks in hand, as if on a tropical vacation. In another scene, the girl group embark on an adventure while dressed as girl scouts, setting up a campsite and exploring nature.
“We go, my imaginary island / Follow, follow and line-up / If you’re ready, up up up up up,” they sing on the upbeat chorus of ‘Up!’
Apart from ‘Up!’, the five-track ‘Doublast’ includes several B-sides like ‘Le Voya9e’, ‘Attention’ and more. The group’s recent single ‘The Girls (Can’t Turn Me Down)’, which was released for the finale of TV competition series Queendom 2, is notably absent from the album.
‘Doublast’ marks Kep1er’s sophomore mini-album, and is the much-anticipated follow-up to their debut release ‘First Impact’. Their first-ever mini-album had sold almost 400,000 copies in South Korea, according to the Gaon Music Chart, and featured the single ‘Wa Da Da’.
The girl group were first announced to be returning with music shortly after they ended their run as contestants on Queendom season two, the Mnet reality TV series which the girl group had competed in against other female K-pop acts such as Hyolyn, VIVIZ, WJSN, Brave Girls and LOONA.
Earlier this year, in an interview with NME, the girl group spoke about how they are determined to become “the best girl group” of the next generation. The girl group also looked back on the bumpy journey to their debut and discuss their love for BLACKPINK, IU and Girls’ Generation.
